The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates survivorship and honors those who have lost the battle with the disease. With funds raised by the Komen Race for the Cure Series, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, with its affiliates, is able to fund breast cancer grants, meritorious awards and community outreach programs.
Since its inception in 2001, the Komen West Virginia Race for the Cure has raised over a million dollars. This money has been used to support life saving programs throughout West Virginia.
Up to 75% of the funds raised stay in West Virginia to fund education, treatment and screening programs for underserved populations.
